Privacy policy

SmugLeague (smugleague.com) is operated by Applied Solutions Ltd, a company registered in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). This page explains what we store about you, why, and your rights. The short version: we store as little as possible, we don't sell your data, and you can play without ever creating an account.

What we store

An anonymous player identity. When you first save a prediction, we create a random account identifier in your browser. It contains no personal information.
Your email address — only if you choose to add it on the profile page, so your account works across devices. Used solely for sign-in links; never for marketing unless you separately opt in.
Your game data:predictions, points, streaks, leagues you create or join, and the display name you choose (pick a nickname — it's shown on league tables).
Basic product analytics(e.g. "a prediction was saved", "a league was shared") tied to the anonymous identifier, used to improve the game.
Payment records if you buy a League Pro upgrade. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.

Where it lives

Game data is stored with Supabase on servers in London, United Kingdom. The website is hosted by Hostinger. Payments are processed by Stripe. These providers act as data processors on our behalf.

Advertising and cookies

SmugLeague is free because it shows adverts. Our advertising partners (including Google) may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads. Where required by UK and EU law, you will be asked for consent via a consent banner before any advertising cookies are set, and you can decline — you'll still be able to play, and ads will simply be non-personalised. You can change your choice at any time via the "privacy settings" link in the footer. For how Google uses data, see policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and you can object to or restrict processing. Deleting your account removes your predictions, league memberships and profile. To exercise any right, email hello@smugleague.com from the address linked to your account (or include your league codes if you play anonymously, so we can find your data). You also have the right to complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).

Children

SmugLeague is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The only personal data we ever hold is an optional email address.
